Class Descriptions

DANCE CLASSES

Ballet

Develops a dancer's foundation of technique from which all other styles of dance build upon. It is very important for a dance student to maintain the study of ballet to continue to strengthen one's turnout, balance, proper body alignment, ankle strength and muscle control.  (Ages 6 and up.)

One hour Class 

Latin Dance

Rhythm classes teach Salsa, Merengue, Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, Samba, and Bachata. Private lessons are available to tailor to your unique needs. (Ages 6 and up.) One hour Class 

Hip-Hop

Also known as street funk. This style of dance is often what is seen on music videos where dancers move in precision to music with a strong, pulsating beat.You've watched it on MTV and VH1, now you too can learn to dance like Brittany Spears, N'Sync, Backstreet and more. You'll be dancing just like all your favorite artists, who knows...maybe you could be their next star. One hour Class (Ages 6 and up.)

Jazz 

Is a contemporary form of dance done to upbeat music. Students learn the Luigi style which is known for its sharp, precise movements.The most popular type of dance, we teach the latest styles from contemporary to hip hop and lyrical. One hour Class (Ages 6 and up.)

Tap 

Teaches students syncopated rhythms, coordination, and precision of movement. A lively, fun dance making rhythm with your feet. Excellent for coordination and fun for all ages. One hour Class (Ages 6 and up.)

PRE-SCHOOL CLASSES

DRAMA CLASSES

Basic Acting Classes 
Students warm up with various theatre games, physical movement, and vocal exercises. Students learn monologues, scene study, character study, and improvisation. Some classes may also include comedy acting, commercial acting, and Shakespeare. The class is taught by a professional acting teacher, will teach students how to audition for film, television, and commercials. Students will also learn about invoicing, contracts, and marketing. Some students will be selected to showcased for directors, agents, and managers. 

1 hour Acting Class for Kids from 5- 12 years old

2 hour Acting Class over 13 years old - Adult

After School - Broadway Musical Camp
This fast moving new course is for the student who wants to sing, dance and act in a full musical production. This quickly advancing course is geared for the student who wants to learn acting techniques while working towards performing a full length play! Students will also learn & work on their own costumes & props. Two hour Classes Monday – Friday. 

Private Lessons: Piano/Guitar/Drums/Voice Classes

Voice Lessons

Ages 5 through Adult; beginner, intermediate and advanced scheduled by appt. Students learn proper vocal technique and production as well as music and rhythm reading, sight singing, and ear-training through warm-ups and songs. This student will also give performances. Are you a singer who gets nervous during performances or auditions? This class is a must for you! Learn life-saving techniques that professionals use to deliver a riveting performance every time!

We have many students who take voice or singing lessons at our schools. Our voice lessons are all private on-one-one instruction. Students sing all kinds of music from their favorite artists to classical arias. Our voice teachers all have a university degree in music specializing in voice and sing everything from pop and jazz to opera. Our teachers all have performance backgrounds as well. Just a sample of what a student will learn in singing lessons includes how to breathe properly, how to increase their range, proper pitch, recording studio techniques, how to project and stage presence. Our school offer 3 optional performance opportunities each year with our Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall recital. Many of our students also perform at local programs and participate in our Musical Theatre Productions.

 Piano and Keyboard Lessons

CEG offer piano lessons for students of all ages and abilities from beginners to very advanced students. We offer every style of piano lessons from classical to jazz and pop. We have students who want to play just for fun and students who excel to our performance company. Piano teachers at CEG are able to match students with a teacher that works best with their particular age, ability and interest. We start piano lessons from age 5 and above. Our piano lessons are all private one-on-one instruction and lesson lengths are 30 minutes or 1 hour. For our advanced piano students we have teachers with master’s degrees in piano who can prepare them for university entrance.

Guitar Lessons

Our private guitar lessons include acoustic, electric and bass guitar. We have an excellent guitar teaching staff and teach guitar lessons in everything from rock to jazz, classical to pop, Spanish to chording. Many of our teachers actively perform in bands. Our guitar teachers have college or university music degrees so they know the proper theory and technique no matter if a student is interested in metal or in classical. Guitar lessons at our schools are enhanced by the opportunity of learning how to jam with other musicians or how to perform solo in one of our recitals. No matter what type of guitar lessons you are interested in, we have the teachers to help you. Typically a student would be 8 years old before starting guitar lessons, due to their hand size, but some younger students start with a junior sized guitar.

Drum Lessons

We have expert drum instructors and our instructors are equal parts rocker and educator to help your child learn how to melt faces in the process.Classes are tailored to all levels of proficiency: beginner, intermediate, and advanced Drummers.Students master life-long music fundamentals: Time signatures, rhythmic patterns, counting measures and performance techniques.  Drum instruction is the foundation of our school, with so many epic songs presenting learning opportunities.Our performance program is the at the heart of what makes CEG great. Jamming in a lesson room is just the beginning to expanding on to a on stage performance.

Pro Tools Music Production Class - Level 1,2, & 3

2 hour Class - 

The Pro Tools Music Production Operator Program trains students to operate a Avid (Digidesign) Pro Tools System in a professional music production environment as an assistant engineer or entry-level editor. Successful students will be able to:
- Understand the Pro Tools File System, Navigation, and Display
- Understand the Differences Between Pro Tools Workstations
- Manage Pro Tools Sessions
- Record, Edit, Mix, Process, and Deliver Audio Using a Variety of Methods
- Use Fades, Signal Processing Plug-ins, and Automation
- Work with MIDI Tools
